I wouldn't say I'm so much a purse girl as a TOTE girl. I'm obsessed. I can't stop buying them. One is cuter than the next! … mmmm … love me a good tote …

I like a small purse and I especially love making them for different outfits so I can coordinate! If I carry a big bag I hate having to dig for my keys, cell phone, lipstick, etc. It's a pain. I also feel that if I care a ginormous bag, I have the tendency to fill it up.

I love making bags! My 10-year-old's friends love getting them as gifts. A little glitter glue and you can customize it with their name.

I'm always carrying a book to read, so I like purses that are just big enough to carry a book and my phone and wallet. That's for day. For night, all bets are off, sister. All bets are off.

  4. Bonney

I love purses. I usually let the fabric talk so it's fun to find patterns that show it off. I think Amy Butler has a fresh style and I enjoy most everything she does!

I've never sewn a bag, but I love Amy Butler's style and have admired all of her purse and bag designs. My local fabric store has lots of samples up, mostly of her stuff. She's got such a great eye for pattern. I'd be too timid to use colors and pattern like she does, but the final product is amazing.

Next to shoes, purses are my fetish!!! I love to buy them, make them and ogle them…LOL you know what I also love??? This book, I pooled drool all over it at the bookstore two weeks ago and immediately went home and added it to my Amazon Christmas wish list then hit the send button to all my family & friends. This book is fabulous, there's not one thing in there I would not make! The

i love purses of all shapes and sizes. i have been admiring amy butlers work for a while now and am now thinking of new ideas for my fabric stash. I hoard bags and I have plenty to choose from although shop bought ones do not tend to last long, it would be a great idea for me to make myself a large one and a smaller one to carry all my necessities such as embroidery, reading books and other

OOOOoooh I want that big beautiful floral bag SO BADLY! I love huge bags–since I always carry so much stuff (knitting, a book, and usually a Netflix or two, in addition to normal purse things).

  10. Courtney

Purses are kind of like friends. When you're having a bad hair day, when all your clothes are in the laundry, when your shoes are scuffed, a purse can brighten and even make your day. Sometimes a stylish and fun purse is just what you need to make you smile and look put-together. I'm not sure one can have enough purses, and with diy patterns, the possibilities are endless!

I am honestly not a bag fan. I am one of those gals who just don't get it.I find them cumbersome….but having said that, I am a mommy of 5 and have always had to have a bag in tow for diapers, checkbook and all the nik-naks that come with having ALOT of kids. These bags are actually cute and they look like fun to make!Maybe I will give it try~~~

  12. Jinxy

I love bags, all sizes and colors. There is just something outstanding about finding the right bag and to be able to make one is killer.

  13. Sarah O.

I like my purses to be just big enough to hold everything I need: my cell phone, wallet, hand lotion and a few other odds and ends. I'm a huge fan of Amy's fabric and would love to win her book!

  14. Kristy

Hi, my name is Kristy and I am a bag-a-holic. I love bags. All kinds. I use tiny ones for jewelry, small ones for small crafts, large ones to carry crafting items in for classes and demos that I teach, shopping bags, etc. I make most of my bags. I have made them out of old t-shirts, plastic bags, potato chip wrappers (from your show), plastic bottles, old jeans, fabric, and juice pouches.

purses don't even get me started. My business name Veska is Swedish for bag/purse. I make them all the time & have way too many purse, if that's even possible. big, small, medium, I love them all.

  16. Lisa Dang: Creative and Artwork Blogs

I make/collect purses.. importantly, I gotta hide it from my husband. I have a secret slash of purses/bags that I been make and bought from other artists'. I am a purse freak, cannot go anywhere without it. Since Im in a graduate school program, I gotta have a big purse to put books and laptop to carry around the campus.

I never knew Amy Butler until you mentioned it on your blog..

  17. Caitlin T.

i love bags–i have far too many–and i'm definitely a big fan of large bags with lots of smaller bags tossed inside to organize everything. thanks for the chance, jen!

  18. AnarchyCox

I love bags, and I love sewing bags (to quote my yarn group "I have a bag problem). I like bigger bags as that way I can always carry a crafting project with me where I go.

  19. Alma

As my husband knows, and he doesn't quite understand it, I love purses, bags, totes, all of it and I am getting into making my own and I would love the book to help me out.

  20. Sharon

I've always had an obsession with purses and totes, but until recently had never made one. Watching Amy's video a few weeks ago definitely inspired me to try. I've made only a couple so far, but now when I go fabric shopping (I love thrift stores) I often go with bags in mind. I've found some absolutely hideous sweaters that are just screaming for a new life as a bag. 🙂

  21. Funky Finds

I love handmade purses! I have only created one on my own, but would love to learn how to make more in a variety of styles. Thanks for the chance to win! Jessica D. – info(at)funkyfinds(dot)com

I'm not much of a purse carrier but I do love tote bags. My mother has been making purses lately and would LOVE this book! If I could make just the perfect purse for me, I'd use it! Thanks for the giveaway.

  23. Jennifer ~ Mi Vida Loca

I really liked watching the video and the book looks great! I love purses but am very particular about what I look for in a purse – I don't like too big but not too small either and it's gotta have at least 2 dividers inside I can keep things organized. (I have a system here! lol)

Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  24. Madalyn

I am OBSESSED With purses!! To be honest I'd never thought about making one but this actually looks like a lot of fun! I'd definitely make something cute & that I could take to the gym with me 🙂

  25. Carol

I've been making totes and purses for a while now. I have one design which is particularly practical, but I'm getting a little bored making it. I would love to try something a little more complicated and fancy!

  26. Deborah

I love to make purses and bags – I've always been a fabricaphile – I come from "good seamstress stock" – both my grandmothers and my mother were high-caliber artists at the machine, as well as the hand arts: quilt, crochet, embroidery… on and on…

One of my grandmothers was the lead supervisor at a large textile mill and clothing factory in Tennessee: I vividly recall

  27. Melody

I like medium size bags. I've knitted and crocheted bags. The pictures from the book makes me want to try sewing one.

  28. ozlynda

I love Amy Butler's style, especially the big and roomy bags. I seem to carry a lot with me wherever I go.

I would love to win her book to make myself as many different bags as I could want. Wohoo!

  29. Stephanie

I collect purses.. I generally buy one or 2 every season. Everything from vintage, to handmade, to brand new in stores. The bigger better, because I carry my life around with me.
