The things Jennifer Perkins likes more than anything else are: crafts, kitsch and kids.  This is a blog about all of those things.  Jennifer is a lifestyle writer for many different websites including – BlogHer, I Love to Create, The DIY Network, eHow and more.  She is the brand ambassador for Treetopia Christmas Trees and a member of the Tuesday Morning stores blog team.  You will often find blog posts here about these companies and though Jennifer was paid and given free product, all opinions are her own.  She loved Christmas trees and crafts long before she was paid to.

A self proclaimed ADD crafter, Jennifer is a Jill of several different crafty trades. She started her creative career as a jewelry designer. Her company Naughty Secretary Club grew into a blog, book and booming brand. Besides jewelry, Jennifer has dabbled in everything from embroidery to scrapbooking. Her current obsession is art journaling and mixed media art.

Jennifer has never met a flea market or thrift store that she didn’t like. She has called Austin, TX, home for almost 20 years and has no plans to ever leave. Crafting and collecting for an eclectic home is every bit as rewarding for Jennifer as a fresh roll of washi tape or new box of markers. Her kitschy home includes items ranging from wood mounted pictures of Burt Reynolds on bear skin rugs to Jonathan Adler sofas.

Jennifer is a founding member of the pioneering Austin Craft Mafia which went on to have branches across the globe. Jennifer was a producer for Stitch, one of Austin’s largest craft and fashion shows. In front of the camera, Jennifer has hosted several programs for HGTV and DIY Network including Stylelicious and Craft Lab. From 2012-2014 Jennifer was the Editor in Chief of Kids Crafts 1-2-3 Magazine.  She has done creative consulting work for large craft companies and small local boutiques. Her work has been featured in ad campaigns for Michaels, JoAnn’s and I Love to Create.

Jennifer is a mother of two children and has been married to her best friend Chris for over 10 years.  She is raising her two children in craftivity and for every project you see on her blog, you can bet there are two mini versions happening in the sidelines.

Jennifer’s weaknesses include stuffed avocados, throwing over the top Halloween parties & thrift stores.
