If you live in Austin be sure to pick yourself up a copy of Rare Magazine. The local glossy mag has a feature on yours truly! I mentioned to the editor that I used a past issue of Rare to make the Shredded Junk Mail Necklace on the cover of The Naughty Secretary Club: The Working Girls Guide to Handmade Jewelry and the matching Shredded Junk Mail Bracelet pictured here in extreme close-up. If you don’t live in Austin and can’t grab a copy, which is too bad because they make great jewelry, you can still read the article below.
This is awesome! I feel the same about rare…when burger was a smaller baby I covered a diaper box with pages and pieces using rare pages so he could stare at it.It is a toy box now. Congrats on such a lovely write-up from such a lovley mag
Belle that’s so funny! I have another friend who uses old copies of Rare to cover picture frames. They should do a whole series on what Austin crafters do with their old copies of Rare.
I totally use Rare for my collages and made my christmas cards out of them last year (of course, I’ll be honest I added a hefty amount of glitter and there may or may not have been potato stamps involved). I just love the feel of the paper too. Kudos to both of you!
May or may not, girl don’t be ashamed of that tater stamp. Seriously there are 3 more issues for them right there.
