Finger Knitting Fun – 28 Cute, Clever and Creative Projects for Kids

My girl Vickie Howell has an amazing new book Finger Knitting Fun Vickie taught me to knit on my arms, I am dying to learn with my fingers.  Who knows maybe one day I will even try it with needles!

How to finger knit a necklace.

Sure the book is intended for kids, but I’d wear the heck out of that necklace.  So would my kid.  I have a feeling I’ll be beating the summer boredom blues with my kindergartener with a lot of finger knit necklaces by the pool.

Finger knitting goes beyond yarn – think rope, jute, recycled T-shirts.  Not only that it goes well beyond the wardrobe.  I love this plant coozie.  I’m already wondering if I could finger knit a hanging version.

Pop over to BlogHer where Vickie shares the tutorial for this adorable vase of flowers from her new book Finger Knitting Fun.  If you live in Austin please bring the kids and join Vickie Howell this Sunday May 3rd at 2pm for her book release party at TOMS Austin.  This is where most of the projects for the book were photographed.  There will be crafts, cocktails and of course copies of the book to buy and have signed!
